Wiggle Worm

Well I have noticed some flutters going on in my belly for some weeks now. The past week and a half though have been certainly different. I am now experiencing the beginnings of kicks and punches. The last ultrasound the baby's feet were on my left side and the baby's head was on my right. I have really been feeling those "kicks" on my left side for sure. Now I think the baby has figured out where my bladder is and probably thinks its funny to kick mommy in the bladder. The baby is usually awake and moving around in the mornings for sure. Last night I got a kick higher up that it normally has been, like closer to my belly button. Makes me feel good to know we are really growing & cooking in there! I am actually feeling some acrobatics as I type this blog. We go back on January 2, 2009 for a second Stage 2 Ultrasound to make sure the baby is growing and healthy. (Still not finding out the sex of the baby!) This will be our fourth ultrasound and I have to say it has kind of spoiled me. I can't hardly wait to see this baby every 4 weeks but I know we won't be getting many more ultrasounds unless there are problems.

I am currently 21 weeks 2 days and can't hardly believe it. It seems like just the other day I found out I was pregnant. I certainly don't want to rush this pregnancy but I surely can't wait to hold this precious little one in my arms.

I know we had mentioned that we would decide on more names and put them up on another poll but I think Mike and I have decided on some names.

GIRL: Brynley Elaine MaKenna Goelitz
BOY: Maximus Owen Alexander Goelitz

That's what we have decided on at the current moment, but we do have 18 and a half weeks to go!

I will blog again after the holidays!

Lots of love,

First Stage 2 Screening Ultrasound

Well we had our first Stage 2 Ultrasound on Thursday. I have been talking to the baby for a few days prior to our appointment saying please don't show mommy and daddy if you are a boy or girl. Well the baby I have to say listens all too well. We have to go back on January 2, 2009 for a second Stage 2 Ultrasound. Dr. McDonald could only see the bladder, kidneys, femur, and head. We did hear the heartbeat which was 140 bmp. She said everything looked good but wants another ultrasound in 4 weeks to try and see everything she needs to see. The baby is laying on its right side with its head on my right and feet on my left. That means the baby's back was facing my belly the whole time for the ultrasound. Baby is looking at my back. Dr. McDonald said my placenta looked fine and fluid was fine as well. We did get to see the baby move its mouth and stretch its arms over its head. The baby was very active during the ultrasound but would not move around enough for the screening. I guess I talked the baby out of showing us anything. LOL!! I have several ultrasound photos to post and I will just as soon as we get the new printer hooked up. Just thought I would update everyone on our progress. OH....ps.....I've lost another 2 lbs. so that makes 12 already. Dr. McDonald said I should only gain about 15 lbs. due to my starting weight. So....here's the math..... (-12+15=3lb total gain approximately) (then subtract the baby weight and fluid and placenta) I will have a negative weight gain in the end!! I'm really excited about that part!!

Hope all is well!

Butterflies in My Tummy

I am pretty sure now the baby is moving up a storm. For the past couple of weeks, I have felt a little flutter in my belly, which of course I thought was just gas at first. Now I am pretty certain the baby is doing some acrobatics. I feel throughout the day small movements, which sometimes tickle, on my left side. I happen to be feeling some right now. It is the most amazing and weird feeling all at the same time. I can't wait until they are more prominent and I can see my belly moving or actually know what the baby is doing, but then again I may regret saying that in the long run! ;-)

I have also posted a baby name poll that will last approximately a week or so. Please vote on a boy name and a girl name. Once the poll is over we will take the name that won for each and put it in a new poll. I have also had a few people ask me where we are registered at. Just to let everyone know we are only registered at Babies-R-Us at this point and time.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

First Time

Well this is my first time for this and I hope to keep things up through the remainder of this pregnancy and after the baby is born. I am currently 16 weeks 3 days pregnant and I am so excited.

First a little background:

Mike and I have been together since May 18, 2008. We now have an apartment together and we are loving every minute of it. We hope to buy a house next year and maybe move closer to my best friend Coren, her husband Kenneth, and my Godson Dean Alexander Maxey! I think Oakland will be a great place for our children to grow up! I am due May 3, 2009.

The pregnancy so far has been a little nerve wrecking! I knew at 3 weeks I was pregnant. I took a test at 4 weeks which confirmed my thoughts. I have had a previous miscarriage and was immediately put on hormones to keep me pregnant. We had our first ultrasound at 6 weeks 4 days due to some bleeding but everything seemed to be fine. The baby's heartrate was 110bpm. The morning sickness (all day sickness) finally kicked in and Phenergan became my best friend. We had a second ultrasound at 10 weeks 4 days and got to hear the baby's heartbeat again which was 175 bpm. Our last visit to the Dr. was at 14 weeks 4 days and no ultrasound this time but Dr. McDonald could actually use the doppler to hear the baby this time. Heartrate was great at 160bpm. We go back to the Dr. on December 4, 2008 for our Stage 2 ultrasound. I know we can find our the sex of the baby at that point, but we have decided to not find out and let it be a surprise at the birth. We have nicknamed the baby "Poppy Seed" after reading "What to Expect." Poppy seed is kind of a play on words. The baby at one point and time was the size of a poppy seed but then again it is "poppy's seed". GET IT?!?! HaHa! We thought that was funny!

Well anyways, the sickness has now gone away but I am dealing with my body hurting. Things are now stretching and I already can not get comfortable while sitting on the couch or sleeping in the bed. My hips are already hurting me as well. I have a feeling I am in for a lot more pain later on down the road. I have also started to feel the baby move a little bit. It's a feeling of flutters on my left side of my belly right now. I have to say it is a pretty awesome feeling. Kinda tickles some times too.

More updates and blogs to come soon!
